What a week it’s been. I feel frazzled. Every day my anxiety has been hitting hard and every challenge exhausting, needing rest and feeling every chance for it is snatched away by the next problem. Therapy was really hard today and I’m very worried for someone else in my group. I told the PD Service and I don’t think they heard or recognise the danger I can see so clear and imminent for the person.
It’s Advent. It’s a precious time. It’s slipping away from me so fast. I really need stillness, to acknowledge what I’m feeling and to draw close to God in prayer. Every day passes and I have the same weaknesses and struggles.
Tonight part of me wants to curl up and escape – but I’m baking because some friends from my old job are coming for coffee tomorrow morning. I put some Christmas carols on and feel a little bit of peace creeping into my heart in the simple repetitive tasks.
Please see here for acknowledgments for this challenge, created by Soul Seaker.
This afternoon was so wet that Day 17’s “splash” might have been more fitting! However, I think part of the enjoyment of this challenge is being led to notice things we might not otherwise do.
I love roses. Here are some bright blooms on a market stall I often pass.
Sometimes I like to go for a walk along the nearby river. This mother duck was just bringing her ducklings for a dip as I passed. They were remarkably sociable and very cute and fluffy! It seems quite late in the year for such little ducklings, don’t you think? I’m not sure but I’d have thought they’d have hatched earlier.
(It was not easy to get a good photo as they swam so fast.)
I was struggling a lot this morning and stayed curled up on my sofa and slept most of the day til 3.00pm. I didn’t go to Mass (Church) today. Which I’m not happy with myself about but I was aching so much and felt really dizzy. Then I made myself go out. I needed to get a couple of cards for a friend and go to the pharmacy and get some grocery shopping then rewarded myself with coffee and a donut. The donut seemed determined to promote positive thinking 🙂
Sending you a smile this Sunday.
